Update

Ed is still in the hospital, with some improvements. The hospital was able to get on lung clear of pneumonia. He has gotten some kidney function back but not much. They can't do to much about his heart. I'm not real sure whats wrong with his heart.

Ms. E said he was talking to his wife the other day and it sounded like they had a disagreement. His wife passed several years ago. I'm not sure if he is on pain medication but I'm guessing he is. The fact that he is talking to his wife makes me believe he is ready to go.

Please keep him in your prayer.

Saddnes is Looming

Sometimes I don't like this time of year. It seems like people have a tendency to passway and leave us behind.

I have a neighbor Ed who is in his eighties and has lost his son several year ago and then lost his wife about 4 years ago to cancer. These past four years have seem taken its toll on Ed. Just recently he managed to end up in the hospital because of vomiting and bleeding in his stool. Ended up being ulcers in his intestines. Hospital fixed him up, put him on oxygen and sent him home.

Tonight I just received a phone call from Ms. E telling me that Ed is back in the hospital with complete kidney failer and had a heart attack last night. Hospital is wanting to put him on dialysis.

This is hard, Ed is such a great guy. Its like he's part of my family and I don't want to seem him go. I have so many great stories to tell. He's one of those guys that you can trust with your life. He's helped me see that there are good people out in the world that are truly good and don't want anything other than to just be there.

Now Ed is in a hospital in critical condition and his daughter doesn't think he is going to make it. She told Ms. E that Ed has been saying that it's his time. I'm not sure Ed really wants to fight anymore. I think he misses his son and wife to much to want to be here any more. Tears just can't stop running down my face. I held it in when I was talking to Ms. E but God this is hard.

Ed if you can hear me, we all love you over here and we hate to see you leave but we understand. We understand your loneliness and don't want you to be lonely anymore. So if now is the time for you to go home and embrace your wife and son again, please go. Please leave your sadness and loneliness behind and enjoy the love that they have been waiting to share with you. We will all meet again when it's our turn.

Damn Little PC Voice

It's interesting because I've gotten caught up in the "people I know are reading my blog I have to be PC" and with being PC I've lost a part of who I am.

My posts have slowly declined to no more than a blog about my travels. There are so many things that go on in my life that are fun, sad or refreshing that I want to share but then in the back of my head I start to worry what people will think of me. Well I'm saying screw it!

If I'm going to enjoy my blog and write the way I want to I need to share my true thoughts and feeling. I love reading others blogs because they seem so free with who they are. They voice things I'm thinking or feeling and I want to write freely again without that crazy Little PC voice in my head telling me "oh, watch how you say this" or " what will people think when they read that" I'm tried of that little voice.

I have to admit there are something that don't need to be said on my blog. Like talking about confidential thing from work. Probably not a good thing to talk about, but I can talk about that girl who sits next to me and drives me crazy!!!

Anyway, I guess I'm trying to say "Stayed tuned" because this blog is going to start turning back into the blog it use to be. I made people laugh and think. I've pissed a few people off but they keep coming back for more.

Life is full of interesting things and I'm going to stop shying away from them and start writing about them.

Back from Schuss!!

A small group of us joined a ski club and traveled up to Schuss for a ski trip this weekend. It was a blast!

Going into it I wasn't sure how the 6-8 hour bus drive was going to go. Which to my surprise it was fun. The bus was divided into two different section. The front was the "family" area and the back was the "partier" area. Of course we were in the back with the partiers!

Here we are at the beginning of the trip

The ski group provided some entertainment during the ride. There was a couple of games you could enter to win some money. We didn't get to Schuss until 11 or 11:30 pm.

We get to the resort, step off the bus and they provided us a packet with our key in it. We picked up our luggage and went to our room. It was a the quickest "check in" I've ever done.

We unpacked our stuff and went straight to bed.

Next morning we woke up around 7:30. Got dressed, went down to grab some food and then headed to the slopes!!

The great thing about this trip is I was able to hit some of the blue slopes. I didn't like all of them so I opted out.

Here I am going down a blue slope!
After skiing we hit the hot tub and sauna for a little bit, watch a football game and then went to dinner. Sunday we got up early, had breakfast and hit the slopes again!!!

Here we all are on top of the mountain. It was to beautiful up there!

How could you not think this is beautiful!

We were done by noon, grabbed some lunch and loaded the bus. Then we headed home for another long bus ride.
We didn't get in until about 11pm.

In the end we all had a great time.

Happy New Year

It's been about 4 months since I've done something to my house and decided over New Years I would redo my kitchen. Crazy! I know!

It's something that has been on my mind for a while but I just didn't have the time or energy to do anything to it. Believe me it's A LOT of work!

All I did was a simple paint job that took me three days to complete!!! Ok it was a little more than a simple paint job.

Here is the before pictures.

It was a cute kitchen with decorative cabinet doors with a mix of green and white paint, yellow walls and some decorative chair rails where the table is. Very....ummm....country? I've had it this way since I've lived here. I believe this was the first room I redid. Anyway it has been time for change.
Say goodbye to the country feel and the cuteness and hello to contemporary:)

I love the new look!!!
I removed all the chair rail and boxes off the of the wall, which caused a lot of damage to the walls. So I spend an entire day fixing the walls.
The next day I worked on sanding down the walls and putting primer and paint on them...which meant I painted the walls three times in one day. Next I removed all the door fronts, removed all the hardware and sanded them down. Talk about lots of time!!! From there I put on a fresh coat of paint on all the cabinets.
Then today I finished painting the cabinets and base boards. Put all new hardware on the cabinets and finished all the touch up work that was overlooked last night.
The last part of the day I've spent trying to clean everything up! That is a job in itself.
I love the new look. There are still some items I need to purchase such as some pictures to put on the wall, curtains and a new table and chairs. The table and chairs will have to come at a later date.
Tis the season to ski so that is where my fun money is going for now!!!!
