So what was the Big Change?

OK…so what was the big change?

I resigned from “the company” today. I know, surprising to even me. It was actually pretty hard to do. After eight years of service it is difficult to give up everything you know and everything you are comfortable with. But there comes a time when you have to pack your bags and move on to a different horizon.

So I’ve packed my bags and I’m looking in a different direction.

In eight years of service I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and have gained some close friendships. I’ve learned the importance of being PC (even though I don’t practice it all the time) and the importance of taking accountability for my actions (this was a hard one to learn). I was able to move up the ladder starting as an admin assistant and growing into a project manager over clinical trials (huge jump that many thought was impossible).

There are a ton of positives I have from working for the company. I have grown in so many different ways while working there that I can’t recount everything.

So if I have so many positives then why am I leaving? Its complicated and the best way I can explain it is….have you ever felt like you just don’t belong somewhere? That even though there are many people around that you love to work with you just don’t belong. Well that is/was me…I just didn’t feel like I belong. I felt like I just didn’t fit into the puzzle. I would wake up everything day questioning why I should go into work and asking myself where did I fit in. I could never answer that question.

Then a few things happened with in the last six-eight months that seem to be pointing me in a different direction. It seemed to be guiding me away from the company. So I started to put out my resume just to see what bits. I figured that if it was meant for me to leave then something will happen and it did.

About 4 weeks ago I was asked for an interview with another company (and for the purposes of this blog I will call it Company X). The interview was over 4 hours long, very exhausting. Walking out of it I felt good about Company X and the things that they have to offer. Then last Thursday I was offered a position with Company X. I excepted and with that I have started on a new path.

I’m overwhelmed with many different emotions. “The Company” has been a part of me through so many different stages of my life and it’s sad to leave it behind. I started the company when I first got married…in fact I believe it was 3 months after I got married that I actually started the company. The Company was there when I got my divorce. The Company was there to celebrate my graduation. The Company helped promote me from an assistant to and associate. So I have truly “grown up” in the company and now I’m spreading my wings and have decided to leave the comforts and security of the company.

So, today with a million thoughts running through my head I handed in my resignation. And so starts a new chapter of my life:)

Going Natural

Call me a crazy but I’ve been working on going all natural. Now don’t confuse this with organic because I’m not going organic I’m going natural. This means I am trying to remove any man made material out of my diet. For example – High Futose Corn Syrup. We all know that HFCS is not healthy for you.Your body does not recognize it as food and doesn't know what to do with it.

So I’m taking one step at a time and I’m working on getting rid of all the HFCS I possible can from my diet. Just like the other day I was enjoying a PB&J sandwich and decided to look at the Jam to see what it was made with. I was upset to see that it had HFCS in it. So the next day I went to the store to purchase some Jam that didn’t have HFCS. Out of the entire Jam/Jelly section I only found ONE jar that was made with real sugar. So cringing at over $3 for this little jar I purchased it. And it actually tasted really good:)

I’ve also started making my own bread. I started out making it from scratch but then I discovered very quickly that making bread from scratch was very time consuming and didn’t work with my schedule so I went out and bought a bread machine. A fantastic little device ever created! So now I’m working on getting the bread to turn out correctly. It's all good but the consistancy is a little off.

So one step at a time to an all natural life:) and maybe a healthier one as well!

Bahamas pics

It's been two weeks since our trip to the Bahamas. This trip was done to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. We have been working on this trip for over a year and it turned out perfect (aside from me getting sick on the last day). This was a complete surprise to my mom. I was great!!!

Here we are at our port in Nassau

This was one of the perfect views from Atlantis. Here is my mom doing the YMCA at dinner.

Here is my mom dancing with some random women how invited her to dance when none of us were willing to go out on the dance floor.

Your probably wondering where pictures of me are.... well .... because these are only the pictures I took I don't have any of me. I still have to gather all the other pictures and hope to post a couple when I get them.

Fun in the Florida Sun

I am here in Florida this weekend relaxing in the sun. And it is beautiful down here!!! There is few clouds in the sky and the sun is shining bright. The ocean feels good, checked that out last night.

I'm planning on posting some pics of my Bahamas vacation I went on to celebrate my moms 60th birthday later this weekend. That was a fun trip and can't wait to share.

OK, I'm off to go sit and read in the sun....with LOTS of sun lotion...still healing from my burn in the Bahamas. It sucks being so pale skinned.

Later!!
